If
clientele gave us inclusive control of their landscape and infinite budgetary
concerns, we would be creating outdoor installation art,
tertiary sculpture out of earth combined with industrial materials, utilizing
process and sense as motive. As well as birthing cubistic Picassoesque
compositions with hard-edged geometric line versus soft textures of Monet's
impressionistic gardens and Seurat's mesmerizing pointillism. Unfortunately not
every client is ready for artists to destroy their entire yard before turning it
into a permanent gallery for the public masses of sociological pathogens.
Our design originates with an examination of architecture, slope
and grade. We study the unique space each house and its
surroundings create. By assessing colonnades, posts and lintels,
pediments, rotundas and porticos, arches and vaults and noticing
characteristics of rise and pitch, our design transposes into an
ambiguous ingenuity, a poetic of space. Utilizing these
idiosecrencies, we compose a symphony of juxtaposition,
accenting architectural form with fornication of foliage,
copulations of color, and tantrics of texture. The front
façade of a residence is a neighborly invitation and must
sustain a sense of functionality as well as beauty. The rear is
a lemonade oasis, a lethargic retreat where couples and families
can reveal a serene clairvoyant tranquility and encounter inner
sanctum.
However, landscape symphonies do not commence without a
discovery of the client. We follow persona. Do they maintain
a sense of formality with décor and attitude or come across free
spirited and naturalistic. Client personality inaugurates our
design decision to preserve a jaded exposition of line and color
by presenting a minimalistic study of Donald Judd or conceiving
a curvilinear amebic abstraction with vibrant expressionistic
hues of William de Kooning and Jackson Pollock.
All of our landscape installations compliment structure.
The architectural integrity of a house should be cohesive with
the landscape. For example, Victorian and Colonial styles should
maintain old-fashioned qualities with plant choice and shape,
Georgian, a southern flare. Contemporary homes relate well to
explosive tone and divergent curvilinear line. In essence,
our designs incorporate color through the seasons bouncing with
complementary to analogous hues; texture softens and hardens
lines of man-made objectivity, foliage ventures into simplicity,
as it is shape. As a sculptor Stanley's mind thinks three
dimensionally, the process of creating his art as well as
landscapes is spontaneous. Ornamental shades and shrubbery are
installed with formed sporadic episodes of insanity versus
elation. His preeminent work has been impromptu, when the client
has given him free will with their landscape installation.
